Orange County has a median household income of $75,000, yet there are more than 12,000 people in the county experiencing homelessness. FOCUS OC opened its doors in 2010 to serve the needs of the homeless and working poor. We provide a range of services including hot meals, mobile health clinics, groceries, clothing, shoes and school supplies.

Have you ever wondered what you could do to meet social service needs in your immediate geographic area? FOCUS Orange County is able to offer its expertise to help you, a volunteer group, or your organization/church develop or expand a unique outreach to your own neighborhood, based on your unique characteristics and your available resources. FOCUS may be able to augment your volunteers and resources. We can meet with your designated person or group and develop a community profile of your neighborhood and brainstorm ways to reach out. Part of FOCUS’ mission and why we exist is to connect people through opportunities to serve others. All our programs below could not happen without the work of our volunteers. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities to help in undeserved communities, contact FOCUS Orange County and partner with us to make it happen by joining in on one of our already established programs, or to start something new! We provide volunteers with the tools necessary to start regularly operating, or one-off service projects.

FOCUS Weekly Meal Program

FOCUS Orange County aims to meet the needs of communities living in poverty who struggle with access to the most basic of needs. One way we do this is through preparing and serving weekly meals in these communities. Our volunteer run weekly meals take place Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Saturday’s at John Marshall Park in Anaheim, 12:00pm-1:00pm.

Mobile Food Pantry & Clothes Closet

With our FOCUS truck, we provide a mobile food pantry, available at various meals. This mobile pantry includes canned goods, dry food items, and other similar items of food pantry donations.

Additionally, we redistribute clothes donations that come to us, including lightly worn clothing and shoes, and other accessories. Items that we accept as donations are: backpacks, school supplies, personal care items.

Service Referral

As an organization that delivers basic needs services, we strive to connect our beneficiaries to services that we may not directly provide. With various relationships with other organizations, we connect people to education, employment, health, and housing services.

FOCUS Summer Feeding Program

Childhood hunger affects every community in our country. During the school year, approximately 21 million children in the United States receive free and reduced-price lunches, through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National School Lunch Program. But when school is out, many of these children go hungry.During the summer months, FOCUS sees a sharp increase in the number of families and children coming to us for food assistance. Across the nation, FOCUS provides meals to those in need three times a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. In 2015 alone, FOCUS will feed close to 300,000 people in need.To close the child hunger gap during summer, FOCUS has undertaken a commitment to expand our feeding programs into the summer and to target children ages 0-18, who are hungry through no fault of their own.
